i know it starts with a p but what is it??

yea i read that, should have read more into him before i got him, was just at lfs and thought he was awesome looking, might just have to bring him back tomorrow, i mean feel bad for it having to be there too, smaller tank than what i have but not many more options

Try and see if a LFS is willing to accept him. Some of my LFS' have bigger tanks for the bigger fish, one store here has a 300 gallon setup specifically for Pacu's that people bring in.

well they had prob about a 20 gallon set up with 2 pacus the one i have which is 2 1/2 inches and a smaller one which was like 1 1/2 inches, and then like 20 or 30 about 2 inch catfish

and my aquarium already has a bunch of big ones and thats almost an hour away so dont know if that would be the easiest route lol

i think someone on mfk has a thread about a pacu he ate. he said it was good, others say they taste like fish food lol. i guess you taste like what you eat. i also agree that they shouldnt be sold. oh well, its money to the stores.

It's not very likely any zoo will want it. They are just too common and people are always giving them away b/c they "out grew their tank". I see them on Craigslist all the time. You may find an lfs to take, but will only sell it and it will be right back in the same situation. The only difference is it will be someone else's problem then.
