Depends on the fish itself. Watch their behavior with their tank mates at the petstore. Also, keep a 1:2 ratio. Rule of thumb with cichlids. 1 male for 2 females.

Yellow labs are really nice mellow fish. I had a breeding pair in my 55gal. Peacock tank and they all got along just fine, Even during the 4 times she was holding and had her babies..
Also had a breeding pair in my 55gal. Mumba tank to. Never had any problems in that tank either..
Plus they are beautifull fish..
