and his name is buzzbombtom..........so two weeks ago i went out to go replace my tangora goby that i lost a few months back due to a jump out. i ended up buying a dimond back sandsifter he was doing great for the last two weeks, i bought the thing thinking that there was no way that another goby would jump out, boy was i stupid. i am running an open top on my tank and when i woke this morning i found him dried on my carpet.... i suppose i will never learn. needless to say i will be making a stop at home depot to get some mesh so this doesnt happen again. man what are the odds that two would jump out? i know i know very good as that is what they are known for :( /rant/idiot
 
yeah i was thinking about that when it happened, and the guy at my lfs was like oh its not too common, but it happens so just be aware of that. and why does it always have to be where we are not in the room to hear it and save them?
 
I wouldn't get mesh buzz.. I would get egg crate (that large square stuff used for air return in suspended ceilings.) A fine mesh will block to much light from the tank if you have corals.
 
They aren't real big.. Unless your goby is really small it shouldn't make it through I wouldn't think.
 
I don't know what's worse...having a jumper or having a fish die on you in the process of taking live rock out in order to catch a pesky fish and then the fish comes out because he was in one of the holes of the live rock and you feel like a murderer! = (
 
I've seen it at both Home Depot and Lowes.. And if you are in the upper midwest Menards as well. It comes in a 2 x 4' sheet just cut to fit.
