I have two packages that were sent priority to me on Monday the 14th, one from SC and the other from MA and I am in Va. After tracking the packages with the provided tracking numbers I notice that both packages have processed through the same sort facility, once on the 15th and the second time today on the 17th. This didn't make a lot of sense to me so I called the USPS, after fighting with an automated system for 20 minutes I finally got to speak with an actual breathing human being. I was told that the delivery confirmation numbers don't mean squat as far as tracking and that priority is now 4 days instead of the 3 which is advertised. The gentleman I spoke to said that not even he could actually track the packages with the delivery confirmation numbers, they are only good to see if the package has in fact been delivered. SO he says that if I do not get the packages tomorrow to file a claim with the postal service, glad there is nothing live in these packages.

Without doubt USPS is the worst most pathetic mail delivery system I have ever come across, and I have lived world wide since I was 16.

I have had more stuff lost, broken and misplaced before being found again than I could possible recall. Insurance is a joke, never in one instance have they ever paid up. They have strung me out for weeks with a claim until it sort of evaporates.

I pay the extra and Fedex or UPS all packages and do everything else via email etc wherever possible.

Yup! I too was told that trackin numbers dont mean a thing. The carriers arent required to scan the packages.

USPS sucks. Period.

.

USPS used to be a good bargain. There is no longer a point in sending Priority anymore. What used to be a 1 day shipment from one side of the state to another is now 3 days. In short, I hear you, Petluvr!

Man, I hear you. One time I shipped a cat to a relative across the country via Priority Mail. It was supposed to take 2-3 days.

I sedated the cat, and carefully packed him in a comfy box. But because USPS took longer than expected to deliver, the cat woke up after 3 days and clawed its way out of the box in the USPS sorting station. Those guys then tried to blame me for their screw-up.

Had they delivered on-time, the cat would have arrived, resting peacefully, and would have never tore its way out of the box... :swear:

:evil_lol:
To all you cat lovers starting to get bent out of shape right about now, it's a joke...

hold the phone here. You're ranting about a shipment of non-live goods 3 days after it was shipped? I fail to see the issue here. I could understand if it was a week, or even two, but 3 days?

as for Delivery Confirmation Numbers... Kinda self-explanatory. If they were intended for tracking packages.. They'd be called Tracking Numbers.

Next time you want a package to get there yesterday, try overnight shipping (and make sure to ask for a tracking number). Or you could just pick it up yourself.

I think it is perfectly legit to complain about paying for "priority" mail, which is supposed to be 3 days and it taking longer. I would complain if I paid for "overnight" and it took two days. You shouldn't advertise what you can't deliver. No wonder the good ole USPS is going belly up!!

Oh and petluvr...even if you don't get it tomorrow, you can't file a claim for 30 days. Search the website.
