I usually post wanted ads on craigslist looking for unwanted equipment. Well last week I got a free 55g tank that needs the top brace fixed and re sealed. So I started cleaning that up and figured I would post on there to see if anyone had and cichlids that they could no longer care for since people are often miss led when buying them. I expected it to take a while to hear anything and by then my tank would be ready (using media from an already established tank to do a mini cycle)

Well low and behold I get someone that just moved and has no room for there tank and wants me to take there 2 convicts (aka feeder breeders for my jd) I said heck yea Ill take them but it might be a week or two till my tanks ready. I get an email back saying they forgot to mention that they are including the whole tank and setup! Cant beat that with a stick if you tried. Not sure on the sex of fish, size of fish, or tank set up, but heck its free.

I didnt post this to brag, but to give you all an idea. Especially with todays economy, not everyone wants to feed or care for there fish, let alone pay the utility bills that come with the territory. As long as you word things right people will see you as the fishs best option. Here is a link to my post so you see what I wrote.

lol, thats a number of cons I dont want to touch, lol. Maybe if they were small enough to fit in my jacks mouth, lol. I figured the first fish I would get from that would be a pair of cons or a huge oscar.

the guy who picked them up wanted them for feeders. we started with 30, one got sick and just never recovered (we euthanized her), and then we kept the two pairs that had set up. we got the whole lot of 30 for free trading one of our ocellaris pbass

SSSSSSSHHHHH! You want everyone to find out!;)

I have made out like a BANDIT on Craigslist....tanks, fish, reptiles, supplies....most for free. People feel good when they know their pets are going to a good home.
