Where the ducks walk on the fish, PA
Back in February of this year I all but totaled my truck and hurt my left knee. Class 3 MCL tear and a complete tear of my meniscus. I had to wait for the MCL to heal to have the surgery to repair the meniscus which is scheduled for 1030am tomorrow as an outpatient surgery.

My daughter is pregnant....due May 12. However she has been having issues with her blood pressure and swelling. She had an unscheduled doctor appointment today because of this. They sent her over to the hospital for blood work and a non-stress test because there is a good chance she has developed pre-eclamspia. If she has it, they are admitting her and taking my first grandchild either tonight or in the morning. If not, they will send her home for bed rest.

She is roughly 500 miles away from me and I can't do anything!

Needless to say I am a basket case.

Not sure if anyone really cares or wants to know but I need to share so I don't lose my mind....I will update as I know more.

Thinking good thoughts for you and your daughter, Sam! Hope that everything goes well for both!

Thanks for the wb Larry....and thanks Anne. All should turn out okay, it is just waiting to know and not being able to do a darn thing. Then also thinking they will probably wait to call until I am under with my surgery or after it and I will not comprehend a darn thing

Just think of all the dirty diapers you will not miss....

:grinyes:

Awww. What a tough spot. I hope all goes well for your grandbaby, your daughter, and yourself! I think I would be beside myself in such a situation.

They are keeping her for observation and monitoring the baby for 24 hours and will determine if they need to take baby Nathan from the info they get. If his heart shows he is under stress she will have an emergency c-section.

Best wishes during this difficult time. I agree, I think any woman would be going nuts...but at least she is in good hands :) Imagine if she were in a rural area with these issues! It sounds like she is receiving top quality care.

I am home sitting on the couch feeling very minimal pain thanks to Vicoden (sp) waiting on word from my daughter as to whether or not the hospital has determined that my grandson is under stress or not and needs to be born now or whether she needs to stay in the hospital for observation longer or go home for bed rest until my grandson is born. Sorry for the run on sentence but punctuation is not in my abilities right now.
