I might be crazy but it seems to me, from what I've seen, that metal halides are easier on the eyes and nicer to look at than aquariums light by fluorescent. Especially for my own aquarium, where I have just actinic and normal flourescent bulbs, it "taxes" my vision, so to speak, to look at it for a long period of time. So now I'm looking into non-fluorescent lighting options. Does anyone agree/disagree that halides are nicer to look at (not just brighter)? Does it depend on the brand?
