A ph of 7.8 should be fine, most fish will be able to adjust to that. However it wouldn't hurt to ask what the ph is at your LFS next time you buy fish and if it is very different, take a little more time to acclimate them to avoid stress from the sudden change. Changing the ph causes lots of problems....

i strongly suggest the heat/salt tretment for ich. works like a charm and doesn't stress ou t he fish to much. :read:
