He was beautiful, I saw a tiny white spot on his tail.... and thought nooo it couldnt' be ick. Decided it was probably just part of him.
Went to the cash to request him and the guy said he just treated him for ick!!

Arghh I had spent a good 20 minutes checking the pleco out too.. it was the only spot on him.
Glad the guy told me, he said if I go back after treatment he would be a really good fish because he is less likely to get sick again..

Do you think that is true? Do you think it's too risky? I wanted to buy an Otto too but they were in the same tank so I came home with a plant and some brine shrimp instead..

He had such nice markings and color :(

Only if kept in a healthy environment.

was it a panaque maccus or was it a pekoltia? panaques need driftwood as a main part of their diet.

It was a Pekoltia,, I have a huge piece of driftwood so that wouldn't matter anyway I was more concerned about the ich!

if you quarantine him, you won't have to worry about it. I just assume that every fish I buy has ich, until proven otherwise. Sometimes even healthy looking fish will have ich in their gills. I keep all new fish in their own quarantine fish for AT LEAST 2 weeks, and usually 4.

Ever try to treat ich in a planted tank? Makes you hate fishkeeping for a while.....
