I'll be the jerk that says neither. Oceanic has a new setup in 8 gallon and 29 gallon; I'm not sure if there is anything in-between. Oceanic is usually very expensive, and they back that up with poor customer service (that's just my experience, but I emailed them several times and they never responded to my question). The Eclipse systems are a bit hard to clean due to the cross-bar, and unless your filter cartridge is brand-new, much of the water flows over the top without going through the sponge or charcoal. I'm sure it's fine for a lightly-stocked tank, but who has one of those? I donated my son's Eclipse 6 to his daycare because it was too small to be easy to service. I bought a used 20 gallon PetsMart starter kit from a trusted friend, and we have enjoyed it much more, though I did upgrade the filter. If you decide to get a 20 or 29 gallon and live in metro Atlanta, let me know if you want to buy a slightly used Penguin 150. Good luck, and thanks for saying CHRISTmas!
