Does anyone know what kind of food is compatible for both arowana and koi, because i house them in the same tank and have been feeding them color enhancing food for non specific fishes.

I was wondering if there would be other variety of food that both of the fishes would eat.

Well first off I wouldn't recommend keeping koi with arowana. Both can get very big and have very different living conditions and needs. I would not keep the two together. That being said, any pellet food would probably work although I believe live food is perfered with the arowana.

Arowanas will prefer floating food for easy of catch. Kois are more midwater/bottom feeders, so here comes the first problem of kwwping those fish togheter.

If both fish can get their share of food as you are doing things now, keep it up.

You could also try small pieces of fish as a treat for the aro. He misght enjoy, as well as the koi will

How large is that tank?

That's kind of like keeping a Cow and a wolf caged together and trying to feed the same foods.

Koi are vegetarians and Arrowana are Carnivore's eating mostly insects, amphibion's, fish and birds. There is no one food that would be a good choice. you NEED to seperate them for many reason's but IF you are bound to keep them together, use sinking vegetable matter for the koi and floating carnivore sticks for the arrowana. KYle

i have been housing them for about 2 months now, and both have been doing fine together, wen i feed live feeders ex. guppies, my koi will actually chase it also, so i think they will work together, i just wanted variety of food so that they won't just keep eating the fast coloring pellets i give them

Once your arowana gets large enough, he'll eat your koi. Arowana will swallow anything that will fit into its mouth.

Arowana is top feeder and eat live fish, worms, bugs, birds

Koi is mid to bottom feeder and they eat mix of vegetable and live food, but most of them would prefer vegetable stuff.

I think shrimp, pellets, worms will work with both.

also depends how big of a tank you have and what species of arrowana. Arrowana need warm water, koi need cool water.

i have a 135g tank, and both are active at temp 80 degrees,. just so you know my koi is bigger than the arowana, wierd that i bought the arowana first and now its the smallest.
