is there a simple way of raising ph to 7.5?
planted 14g
ph 6.4
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ammonia 0.25 doing a water change first thing in the morning
will post carbon stats tomoro.

why are you trying to raise the ph? your fish don't care....aim for stability, not perfection.

Agreed, with the 2 posters above. I'd kill to have water with a low pH (mines 8.2!)

Just aim for a stable environment for the fish - pH, temps, NO3 (and 0 in NH3 and NO2)

Edit: just releasied in newbie section

NH3 = Ammonia
NO2 = Nitrite
N03 = Nitrate

i was told by LFS that the goldfish need a ph of 7.5 so im just trying to make my goldfish as 'comfortable' as possible. ive found a product called ph up but havent brought it yet.

don't use pH up or any other chemical like that. your water will naturally resist the change, and will only bounce back to where it was. this change is much worse for your fish than keeping it stable.

i keep soft/acidic water species like dojo loaches and glass catfish. Theyr'e supposed to be in less than 7.0 ph, but I keep them in 8.0 and HARD water, and they're thriving!

PH up

Will only make your ph bounce up and down as noted above. I've kept most everything in water from 8 to 8.5 and they were fine. My water is so hard that I can spray down the dirt and have pavement by morning. My fishies are fine :)

please read the many many many many should i keep saying many? posts where the lfs gave wrong or bad info. sounds like they were trying to sell you something. as many of the other people said its better to have a stable ph then a ph going up and down. that will cause more harm to the fish.
