Hmmm. I do water changes every week so I dont think that is the case. Also I have a diamond goby in there that sifts the sand bed too. but it seems that he can't keep up with it either... I also already have a phosphate pad in there too. I use ro water so I dont think that the phosphates are a problem. I also do not think I should lessen the feedings because I only feed them little by little, to make sure there arent any uneaten foods. Also, I this system has been running for about two years now, so this is an established tank. it isnt a new one....

well I have one of those nano aquariums called aquapods and it is made by a company by current. it is just florescent bulbs, and I change the bulbs every year so I dont think that is the proble. however, I think it might be the phosphates. Darn, I dont have a test kit around so the water testing is gonna have to wait. I will get back to you on that one. but I feel that it is due to the increased nutrient levels. This is becuase about two months ago my diamong goby jumped into the back of the tank. I dont know what it is called, but I think its either an overflow container, or a filter. anyways, there seemed to be a huge organic build up in there, because when I was trying to fish out the goby, I stirred up some brown stuff that smelled really bad.... After that, there was a nitrite spike. I almost lost my firefish because of it. and ever since, my tank seems to be cycling again.... there are some new things growing on my live rock.... some bubble algea, and some sea grass that just came out of nowhere..... but the turnicates in the back of the tank seems to be happy.... but my best guess is phosphates.... someone told me that ph could also be the problem to a diatom outbreak.... is this possible?
