I need input from the fairer sex...

And just think, you could also use them for...

Removing old paint and varnish from futniture,
Restoring that old rustbucket you call a car parked outside..
resurfacing the finish on your hardwood floors....

the possibilities are endless! Use wherever you normally would use 36 grit sandpaper!

Man, I should get a set to use to sand down that old snowplow!

So I'm better off just going with a nice vegetable peeler?

you bet man. i wouldnt buy these things again if they were free with shipping. use them on a raw potato before boiling, and you take an hour to get the job done.. use them after, and you end up scraping off all the meat of the potato and wasting a bunch of it.

yup thats a mighty big gift you giving there just make sure ya got some coin for paper to wrap it

personally as a chef i do homestyle mashed where the peel goes in the mix

and please tell me you are joking about this cause if thats the best and biggest gift yall giving to your wife i agree with the person who said they is glad they not your wife

on a side note, it's nice to see how many truly ungrateful people who think more about the value of a gift than the thoughtfulness :)

*ahem* i think maybe you should try hinting that you want to get her something but what would she like...clothes...kitchen stuff...but those gloves just dont seem right for xmas LOL

Like I said, it wouldn't be her only gift; just the big one.

As a chef, though, you might be able to help me out...

To go with the theme, I also wanted to get her some potatoes. I'd be interested in a variety that isn't too pricey, yet says 'fancy' at the same time. Would Yukon Gold fit the bill, or would I be better off going with a sweet potato? Thanks.

The thoughtfulness of a gift?? I cant say what his wife would think, maybe she likes stuff like that. As far as what I would think, "my man is more focused on making it easier for me to cook him dinner than on what I as a wife and person would personally want for me"

The gloves rank right up there with the "sham wow" . If you have ever paid attention to that infomercial, when he dumps the drink onto the carpet, you can see the drink all around the carpet and he lifts it up to show that the bottom of the carpet is socked. The camera briefly moves away and when it shows the carpet again right before he puts the "sham wow" on it to absorb the drink, there is not any drink around the carpet. Therefore putting on a decieving show.

Get her a NICE set of kitchen stuff, stainless stell, that includes the veggie peeler, a brush to scrub veggies to clean them, some scissors for kitchen use only..

Personally as far as a Christmas present for myself, a nice house coat and a new pair of slippers would make me smile.

i think this is a joke
to have the best christmas ever why dont you make her a small pamper pack! go to shops and buy some nice bubblebath and creams, face packs candles and box of chocolates and magazines but them all in a nice box with a bow!!
the gift is giving her some HER time!!
put a note in the box saying I OWE YOU A BACK MASSAGE then she can trade the note for her massage!
bet she will love it ! you dont have to spend a lot of money its the thing about thinking about her!!

I think you should go with a new vaccume; one of those light weight ones. Then she can lift it up easily - to smack you upside the head!! :lipssealedsmilie:
