I need MAJOR help...

i would definately take the carbon out, evein in this case. otherwise, it'll absorb all the medication in the pimafix and melafix, and you essentially wouldn't be treating the fish at all.

No worries, I havent had the carbon in at all. Right now they are empty filters just blowing bubbles and getting some oxygen in there.

Sometimes I will dip my finger in the tank then stick flakes on my finger and my fish will come up and take the flakes from my finger. You could try doing that with your fish. It might be easy for him because its not moving around.

I just wanted to give all of you guys an update.... its been 6 days and this fish (who i decided to call Mojo Mouth) is still alive!!!! I've been giving him Pimafix and Melafix and the tissue around his mouth is growing back. It doesnt at all look like a normal mouth, but his mouth actually closes now. Instead of how a normal fish's mouth opens up and down though, he almost has to puff his cheeks out and then the tissue that makes up his mouth opens sideways.... its kind of odd looking, but he's still alive and swimming and fighting :)

Great news
My black moor is named Mojo. He really lives up to his name. :)

Great news! It's always nice to hear happy endings- I'm really glad 'Mojo Mouth' is doing a lot better!

You should post a pic so we can see what the new mouth looks like.:)

Hey guys, I have really sad news... 2 days ago, Mojo Mouth died. I had changed his water the day before and re-started treatment of Mela-fix and Pima-fix because it had been seven days, but the fungus didn't clear up. His mouth had healed a lot, but the fungus was still there and he wasn't eating at all. I tried even using tweezers to hold a piece of food for him, but he would just spit it out. So i'm not sure what actually killed him. His water had some ammonia in it, but it wasnt very bad, I can't remember the exact amount but it was only a tiny bit over 0. The only good news is that I went back to Walmart a few days before and they indeed are not carrying fish anymore. Yay for crappy care getting an end put to it. RIP Mojo Mouth. Thanks for the support everyone!

I'm sorry for your loss :(. You did everything you could.
