I need some help fast please!
Robbie Jr., my old betta, was floating at the top of his tank today. He's ashy looking and kind of swollen near his head region or maybe he's just really thin. So I thought he was dead and being lazy, I left him until tonight to take out of the tank.
So he's on the bottom of the tank now and I'm like, weird but okay and I stick in the net and he moves! He's alive but just barely.
I was away for five days and the pet sitter was supposed to have fed him. Whether she did or not, I can't be sure.
But before all of this, he's been going downhill. I think he has swim bladder problems so I researched it but didn't have sufficient time to fast him before I had to leave for the week.
What should I do??? Should I put him in on a bed of java moss in a cup so he'll be right at the top of the water so he won't have to struggle to get up for air or food? And should I put the cup on a heating pad?
Should I medicate him? With what? Should I go ahead and give him a pea or regular food? If he does make it, how long should I wait before fasting him?
He's looking horrible but I don't want to give up. I don't know if I'm capable of deciding to put him down. I have clove oil just in case but I really don't want to have to do it.
