I need suggestions on stocking my 29 gallon tank.

Don't know about if the plants would survive, but 2 males /5 females would probably make for a full 29, and I've never tried other tank mates. Do search the cichlid forum, as thats pretty much where I learned all about my cichlids. 1 to 2 or 1 to 3 is the recommended m/f ratio, and you definetly need enough females as these boys do like to chase!

Though grandpa (who was rather big compared to everyone else) didn't survive this week's move due to some house renovations, and it being so HOT locally. But the 2nd in command is already showing off...

sorry to hear you lost your stud fish. At least the second in command finally has a shot.
