I re-scaped the 29g

just out of curiosity, how'd you win?

Switched to RO/DI water

Filled a fuge with chaeto, and started growing halimedia in the display

Slow down on feeding

Manual removal

:)

wow what a difference, never seen anything like it! Your tank looks really amazing now mate, GooD WorK!

Would you say that the chaeto, Ro/Di water, halimedia, and less feeding actually got RID of the algae? or is it that you manually removed the ones that were there already and these improvements made sure they didn't come back again?

Just curious as I'm trying to help someone else with this issue, too.

Well, I can't say for sure, since I did manually remove a lot of it, but I think it would have gone away 100% w/o manual removal if I had just left it alone.

There were days, after I quit pulling it out, where I'd come in every day and see less hair on top of my top rock...actually over the course of two weeks it went from having a crew cut to being bald. ;)

Just starve the tank for nurtients and it will dissapear...

And they say macro will always outcompete the micro algae for food, given a goodly amount.
