Well, I ended up returning a male Blue German Ram to my LFS becuase the larger one was bullying him to the point of death. So, on my second attempt at getting a female, I go back, and all the Rams that appear to be females look kinda of sick. By sick, I mean that their fins area all ragged looking and they lack color. I went against my better judgement and picked the largest female (who was still in pretty bad shape), or at least what I think is a female.
Anways, as it turns out, she looks a lot better these days. Only a few days later and her bottom fins are spread out instead of all shriveled up. Her back fin was all cut up and soggy looking but now it appeast to have fused back together in one piece. She swims around and is actually a lot more golden with a tint of the blue traits, rather than a straight blue like the male I have.
Just a quick question to the Ram experts. I still dont know if she/it is a female. She is less colorful, but more in a yellowish golden way. It has several barely visable blue specks where the black dot should be. The male does pick on her, but not nearly as much as he did the smaller male. What do you you all think? Anyways, thanks for reading.
