just want to run this by you either as reassurence or a wake up call

do you think this is over stocked? I know it's high if you're thinking gallons but if you're considering gas exchange i think i'm just barely within my limit

red lugwigia
wisteria
wedtii crypt
rotala rotundifolia
some kind of anubias
dwarf sagittaria

6 neon tetras
5 aneaus corys
1 pair pinapple swordtails
2 amano shpimp. . .somewhere
1 rubberlip/bulldog pleco

aquaclear 50
20W florecent-(working on doubling that)
100 watt submersable heater
fine gravel
driftwood (BIG one)
lava rocks and various others

I think you forgot to mention how many gallons?

I think that is just fine for that tank. As long as you keep up with the water changes I dont think you will have a problem. :o

Maybe you should remove the driftwood. As you stated it's a BIG one and it may be taking a lot of valuable water volume in your tank. As an average, a 20 gl rated tank with fish and decor will actually have only 15 gallons of water.

Just an advice.

i wantedc to give this a bump since i now have pictures on my user page,

what do you all think?:
should i take out the driftwood?
or change the population of the tank?
or does it seem alright?

right now i do 50-60% water changes every week and my nirates at that point are always a little under 10ppm

the amount of poo and uneaten food i suck up is light.

i have to say i'm hesitent to remove the driftwood b/c my plecco needs it in his diet.

so long story short i'm wondering what your opinions are.

thank! -Kyle

All those water changes will probably keep the tank healthy, but as far as being a healthy environment for those fish to grow and thrive, no.

It's overstocked.
