I think it's a loach...

They don't need to be the same size or color. The temperature range should be ok, I think, not entirely sure. That tank should be dojo paradise as long as the adult crays leave them alone. :)

My Marmorkrebs are sweet peas. All sweeties from a passive, non-hunting species (except one, she's a real angry b*tch, but she lives alone in another tank lol). They'll just investigate the loach and go about their business.

...though, when I get friends for the loach... something that big doing the "loachy dance" (do dojos do the loachy dance like my other lil' loaches do?) might scare the hell out of them, heh.

be for warned that they shed their skin when they grow it looks like their getting something but you'll see a floating opaque bag in the tank within days.

ooo, like a snake?

OMG that loach is soooooo cute!!! How could you not love that face?? I wish I could keep loaches :( I have the worst luck with loaches and guppies. *sigh*

Nice score! I love the catfish you picked up too. The bf doesn't mind another tank?

yep just like one too get grummpy but not attacky just dont want to move except through the plants and decorations to get it off. and yes they do the dance if you mean up and down the sides of the tank but also they react to the barametric presure so if its about to rain they get really active.

lol the boyfriend doesn't get a say in this tank. It's going out into my parent's garage, because well, someone needs to use that garage for something, hah. (Just wish I could have put some of my larger tanks out there, but there's not enough of a power source for half dozen heavy duty filters, air pumps, heaters, lights, etc.)

And it is rather strange that I don't find this critter cute, isn't it? Considering I've been known to snuggle crayfish at LFS while going "aww, it's so cuuuuuute!" (ps. I have bad luck with guppies, too. 'course my bad luck with them is that I have hungry crayfish, bichirs, large catfish, etc :evil_lol:)

...neat. I didn't know any fish did that. ^_^

And oh boy, my poor Marmorkrebs are going to be looking at these loaches like there's something horribly wrong with them. I can see it now, they're going to be hiding in a corner with their claws tucked over their heads while the loaches doing their loach dance. :D

A friend from australia (where weather loaches are native) said that when it rained, sometimes they'd be out walking along or across the road looking for a new body of water. Pretty sweet.

Out here on Oahu, we get daily tropical showers (The part I am in) So my loaches are almost always active, its really neat to look at the tank and say its gonna rain in about 15 min and be right, LOL
