I think my filter pump died... what can i do?

I use a chopstick too. Give it a little kick start. It has worked evertime for me.

Yep sounds like a stuck impellor... Take it out and reseat it, you should be able to spin it with a pencil

oh so heres the deal... I think i lost the impeller :rant2:

When i took the pump of the first time, i forgot to take the intake tube off first. So i assume the impeller fell out or something and now I cant find it

well if you lost the impeler ..you have probably found your problem ..its a little thing with what looks like a white cross on the bottom ..with two little nubs on the ends the white cross thing will be closer to one thatn the other ,,in a ten gallon filter should probably be about an inch to an inch and a half long...

You should be able to pick up a replacement impeller fairly cheap...HAve you been monitoring the tank for a cycle while the filter is out of commission?
