I'm so confused as to what my rams are as in male or female. I thought I seperated four of them via two females in one eclipse and two makes in another. However, in both tanks one ram has layed eggs. I now have no idea if either tank has male and female or if there all female and they just laying eggs for the hell of it. Here are a few pics. The eggs look like table salt and the ram won't leave that area.

I also turned the heat up to 86 degrees. Is there anything I need to do in case the other ram is a male and has fertilized them.

The blurry ram looks like a male to me. They normally like 86 so your temp is fine. You said you thought all males were in this pic's tank? If there is a ram with a dark pink tummy - dark pink - this is the female. They can lay eggs even if a male is not around and they will guard and protect them. Eventually though they will have to give it up.

Yea, I thought that one is a male too. However wouldn't the female be the one guarding the eggs heavily? So far, the male is the one guarding them and running everyone around the tank. Also most of the eggs are gone now, I assume that they ate most of them. I tried to keep them well fed to prevent that but it didn't help.

Rams take turns watching the eggs..it is not uncommon for the first few spawns to get eaten.
