I thought my Red Devil was a male

The agressive nature of "red" and the bump on his head always led me to believe I had a male red devil.......but when i got home yesterday i noticed it had layed, what appeared to look like eggs. check out the two pictures..

any ideas? is it a male? female? hermaphrodite?

The bump is not prominent enough to say iot is a male. How long is the fish?

It is a a rather pretty devil! The egg pic is not in focus!

red is about 8 inches from mouth to end of tail!......sorry that was the extent of my picture taking skills!

Females can develop a small hump, not uncommen. The best way to sex is by venting. I thought I had a male but Im pretty sure he is a she. Nice fish
