I was doing a water change today and every time I gravel vac the tank the fish swarm to be near the tube.

I try to be very careful, but today one of my Corys got sucked up and was stuck at the intake. I quickly pulled out the gravel vac and he got out, but he has a little cut on one side.

He seems to be OK and is swimming fine, although he hid for about 15 min after he got out, but that is understandable IMO.

Is there anything I should/can do for the little cut?

i would just up the frequency of your water changes. Clean water will be his best friend. Keep an eye out for any seconday infections (cotton like patches etc)

Poor guy. If it doesn't look extremely bad, than you should just do more WC's than normal and keep the water clean. Melafix and other meds would probably do more harm than good for a small wound.

Put some salt in the water. Or if you have stress coat, then put a healthy squeeze in there.

Cories are sensitive to salt, having armor plates instead of scales to prevent it from irritating them. It is being very risky to dose salt with cories, and too much of a risk for anything minor. I agree completely, though, that a bit more stress coat, prime or what have you would help.

Hi, I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago with my favourite guppy. What I do now since this happened in a planted tank is I'll swish the vaccum around an area to push the fish out of the way before I clean it so the fish get a warning.

What you can do is add some melafix to your water. It will help him to heal and prevent external infection. Keep the water clean. If he's swimming o.k. he should be fine.
