I Want A Cool Fish.

Ok I went to petco today and they dont have jack squat and i rellized that i HATE petco.
the tanks where nasty im thinking of trying to get a job so i can give the litte buggers a chance.

Heh. If you live in Houston there's bound to be a Petsmart or three. You'll probably be able to find them somewhere, but I wouldn't know. That's one of the few regions of Texas I've never lived in.

Hey RACER,

You live in Houston? One of the most reputable distributors for exotic african fish (especially exotic bichirs, ones you will seldom see at your LFS) lives there. I have group ordered from him twice and am very happy with the fish he sent.

AFAIK though, he doesn't sell individual fish to locals, only to LFSs. So i suggest to drop Toyin an email and see if there are any LFSs around you that he supplies.

The p. senegals should be easy to find, at $2 a piece thats a good deal, normally they range from $6-$20 for senegals. The african knife is not super common, but definitely not impossible to get. Ask an LFS to special order a batch. If not, i believe Toyin has them as well. And the ABF should be easy to get a hold of as well.

Also, swing by aquaticpredators.com to meet all your bichir needs.

He's got great stock, here are a few pics of the more not so common species of bichirs i got.

Ok So right now im really liking the

2 dino eels
1 african knife
1 african butterfly fish

So now I have never seen these any any petstore
I havent even seen them in any exotic fish shops.
So the problem now is purchasing them
Careful on what you buy. These fish would be to much for your 55. Do some research first before you buy. A 55 is not that big of a tank when it comes to most of these fish being listed.

For something extra cool, you couild get a bichir. They are snake like fish, but most will easily outgrow a 55gl. tank.

snake fish... its more like the ancient sea monster of sailors past, yeah, they'd deffinantly say WOAH! to that... quite possibly out of fear.
