I fail to see why using a $100 worth of prime to attempt to save several thousands of dollars worth of fish would not be worth it, ethically and financially I doubt if they could claim it as an insurance claim, because in their industry, what happened would appear come under incompetence, at the very least. Something isn't adding up in my book.

yes, it was the Regina store.

yes, people make mistakes.

yes, the store is in financial distress.

no, that doesn't excuse them completely, but I hope they learn from this.

Aditionally, couldn't the fact that they have most of their tanks connected (like in groups of 20) be a part of the problem?

no doubt

the aussie ex head fish/reptile keeper from that store is a friend of mine.

I won't use his words to describe the new management of petcetera, but truly they have no idea how to do things! And they definitely put handcuffs on their employees in regards to deviating from their corporate rules. SADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

Most certainly the wall o tanks being connected is a huge issue.

You should've bought a few. Several years ago someone at my brother's work dumped clorox in the fish tank (spite, stupidity, thinking it was funny? i don't know). As soon as he found out he snatched up what fish were still alive and took them home-2 Plecs and several Convicts. He's still got the Plecs and the Convicts bred like crazy until he finally gave them all to a fish shop.
I don't think you're melodramatic. It's a good sign when people feel sadness at this sort of thing. The young girl crying about it means there's hope for the world yet.

I agree. If the fish is still alive them treating the water could still save it. Or they could at least kill it humanely. A fish store should have a euth tank.

They did emergency treat the water, but after 8 hours or more exposure, most of the fish were already dead, only some hardy mollies and platys. Too bad that Aussie isn't there anymore, he was rad.
