ich treatment for loaches

where do you get this idea that clown loaches need dif med? can you post a link to this so-called loach med for me? i always heard scaleless = half dose.

so latazyo, if loaches do not make it - don't worry - you did the right thing!
 
never use a treatment that contains copper with loaches! certain meds use copper as another ingredient but it will kill loaches

a lot has happened since 2002

in the above case of the loaches, I did use Rid Ich and all fish were well and relieved of their ich

as a further update, I took down the tank a few years ago and have since not gotten a new one (fw that is)...I couldnt believe it when I saw my email notice for the thread subscription
 
I'm glad it did resurface. I have been doing extensive research on treating a tank for ich that contains loaches. I could not find anything consistant, except no copper preparations, so I treated with Maracide and have been crossing my fingers. I feel a bit better after reading this...thx
 
Hahaha, I was reading this going "OMG NO DONT USE MEDSSSSS, Use Salt!"
and then I got to the part where I realized it was from years ago and started laughing!
 
I too have used malachite green based meds with loaches. I add half the first dose in the am the other in evening to let them get used to it but no problems full dosing after that.
 
Finished the treatment and the little guy didn't even miss a beat! He is doing great and my tiger barbs are all back to good health as well:)
