Ich Treatment

After doing a bit of research Iam going for the salt and high tempreture method. Salt a 1tbls per gallon, started by uping temp to 80F, adding 25tbls of salt to a 57 gallon tank. 12 hours late I have added another 10tbls. Then finally in 12 hours time up temp to 82F and add another 15tbls of alt. I shall try this out for two weeks. If no luck I will try a medication, not white spot+, I thing this is only suitable for a QT. I believe it even discolours the aquarium glass.

I think you used to much salt. When I treat with salt I use 1tbls per 5 gallons of water, and I only add it once (except for putting some back in after a water change), not everyday for 2 weeks. If you keep adding salt like that without doing mega water changes youre going to have problems. Your amazon fish especially will not like this.

Heres a good treatment for ich: http://****************/information/recommended_treatment.htm#top2

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I am going to add 1tbls of salt per gallon ie 50tbls to my 57 gallon tank (i've taken off 7 gallons for displacement of rocks etc). The addition of salt was done in three phases over a 24 hour period.
The tempreature has been increased from 76c to 82c in 48 hours.
The tank will remain at these levels and temps for two weeks, if the ich has gone, I will drop back the temp over two days and reduce salinity by doing water changes with out any salt. If ich is still present I will add the recomended dose of white spot+ and follow the instructions on the bottle.
