Ich ..... when to stop heat/salt

On November 10th I started the heat/salt treatment for ich in my 25 gallon tank. After a couple of days of cysts appearing (at quite a fast rate, I might add), by the 14th, there were no more cysts on my fish (that I could see). I've kept the temp high and salt in the tank since then (its been just over 10 days since the last visible cyst). Can I now gradually reduce the temp to 78ish and reduce the salt gradually through water changes? I believe I read somewhere to continue the temp/salt treatment for 10 days past the last sign of ich on the fish. Does this sound right? Thanks in advance for any response.

it sounds right.

Personally, you dont need to gradually lower the salt level.

You can just lower it with water changes only, and let the salt go away on it's own.

The general consensus I've found is at least one week, so yes you can start putting things back to normal.
I did two weeks, but I'm an overkill fanatic.
With elevated temps especially ICH's life cycle is very quick so there is really little or no chance that any remains after a week. The original source I read on this treatment says that 3 days is enough after the last cyst is off you fish, With my fish, visual inspection is hit or miss (fast moving white fish) so I did the overkill thing to make sure.
