I think one of my clowns has ich, I'm gonna do a fresh water dip today. But i was wondering if my other fish are likely to get it now? Also do I heat the water up to the temp the tank is at or should i heat it a little more?

From what I understand ich might not die from just a freshwater bath. I think you need to add a copper treatment to your dip. Copper is deadly to i'm pretty sure all corals and inverts so dont let any get in the tank. I dont know but you might want to put some tank water in a separate bucket and re-dip him just to make sure no copper residue gets back into the tank. I have no idea if this is neccessary so get way more feedback before you follow any of my advice. Also, does your clown have a hosting anenome? My tang was just loaded with ich a couple days ago and my tomato clown has zero. Its just an observation but im curious if the anemone stings and kills the ich before it has time to mature. I have a condy anemone which ususally doesn't host clowns but mine loves him. good luck

ok so i just finished the freshwater dip and all the spots are gone. Is this a good sign? He seems to be swimming alot better also.

if they dropped off they will still be in the main tank. best way to a void ich is make sure all is perfect. if fish arent stressed they wont get it or at least not badly. if u raise the temp it makes the life cycle of the parasite speed up but at the same time the fish metabolism higher causing stress to the fish. best thing is water change and some garlic in the diet to prevent infestation.

Kent garlic Xtreme or Garlic Guard are better than home made mixes but some people crush garlic

I don't know if I necessarily agree with that one.

I use Kent now, but I used to just pour a little juice out of the big bottle of minced garlic we keep in the fridge before i bought the kent.

The kent is easier, as you just drop a few droplets in, but it's also $10 for a bottle, and it's just garlic extract.

I'm not saying it isn't better, just seems like the same with a few trade-offs.

:)
