what do you mean about the filter and the barrier? i dont quite understand.
this is a little filter that has an airater and provides lots of current. normally the current is blocked by a collection of plastic plants. this afternoon i moved it over to provide more current and what i think to better filtration. since it has been back in its origional place the moore is not aggressive.

Some people have said table salt is ok, some say its not. What salts CAN be used and which ones should you stay away from? Someone mentioned water softener salt to be a good alternate...is this a fact? Considering aquarium salt can be expensive and I need enough to last 2 weeks with a 55g tank, from best to worst, whats are the best salt alternatives?
