ICK Treating?

The main thing to do though is keep treating with your meds for probably at least 1 week after all visible signs have gone, you want to be sure you've killed every parasite and sometimes people stop to early only to find it reoccurs. Raising the temp speeds up the ICH lifecycle so it fporcees the parasite to stay in its free swimming stage more than usual, this is the only part of the lifecycle where your meds will have any affect.

You should start noticing improvment a few days into treating, also if you've not done so already get as much air in your tank as possible and get an air pump going, quite often adding meds uses up oxygen in the water.

By the way I found this site which talks exactly about the question you have, listen to segment 2 on this page.

I have a Fluval 2+ filter which is similar to your's in my small community tank. I'd leave the course foam pad's which are inside, but, take out any other medium you have in there (i.e Carbon, fine filter).

Once you have treated the Ich for a couple of week's, @ least a week after the last white spot has dropped off, them put your Carbon back in.
