ID Help- Bottome Feeders? What are they?

Thanks for alll the compliments and help everyone. I had another thread in the cichlids forum with help on the ID part. I have had fish before and maintained them so I know the basics. I actually found this forum by searching about the Fluval 303 which wasn't working on the left tank. The right tank has the E-something filter... too lazy to check right now. I resolved the fluval issue, added water with conditioner last weekend, and now tomorrow will do a water change/ gravel vacuum. Yestertday the optima air pump started shuttering horrible noises, so picked up a new Whisper one todat. The tanks dims are 37x18x19 all aquarium, but the closest match I had on their website was 36x18x18 which is 50 gallon, I think my trim makes the difference.

I have to tell ya, I read many posts on here to learn... I am a sponge when it comes to knowledge. The one thing I don't understand is that the previous owner left me no instruction... and the neighbor told me that he was really into his fish. Oh well, no biggie, I got you guys... and I really am getting into it.

In that left tank there are:
- 6 Tropheus Moori
- 3 sydontis multipunctatis catfish
- 2 Bristle nose pleco's
-1 Finless syndontis angelicus

In the right tank there are:
- 6 Tropheus Moori
- 1 Pleco not positively ID'd a) panaque suttoni with no blue eye 2) Acanthicus hystrix depending on the tail. (Will take more pictures)

...It would be a shame to loose the finless angelicus...

Believe it or not, I have no aggression issues in the left tank with the finless angelicus. I think he is my favorite, cause he waddles around. Now that I have confirmation he is to be finless... I am not worried about them.

I do have issues in my right tank with the dominant Tropheus Moori... he has the rest up near the filter hiding, but only when the light is on. When it is dark they stick to themselves. This tank I am worried about... when I do the water change I am going to take out all the landscaping and rearrange and see if this helps.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that he was meant to be finless. I just wasn't surprised to believe that a resident (possibly, since removed) in an African cichlid tank would do that to him. Either way if he manages to find enough food, and remains healthy then fine. The fins may or maynot grow back. In my experience severe damage like that usually does not.

I have learned some hard lessons in fish over the last year. About six months ago I lost my medussa pleco... not sure why just his time I guess, but today I noticed I am losing the other medussa looking pleco (but orange/rust color). The tank over the last few weeks has algaed up big time and not sure why. The rest of the fish are great, but a little nervous.

In the right tank a friend of mine had 4 Pseudotropheus zebra he no longer wanted and I placed them in my right tank. They were beautiful, but every week one would be horribly stressed and I would separate due to one being overly aggressive. To make a long story short... he is the last one along with my Pleco. I am thinking of giving him away and starting fresh on that tank.

Beside cleaning the algae on my left tank, anyone have any other suggestions?

i was going to ask for pics of the wall unit
but you put one up
i read in one of the fish books to not have tanks near TV speakers and stereos since the sound vibrations could cause the fish harm so take out the tv and get another tank in there if you have a better spot for the TV

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere else to put the TV... I am sure some will be willing to take it off my hands though. I did a thourough cleaning of the tanks along with rinsing the media today. Just watching everyone really close and hoping for the best. The update on the pleco isn't so well, unfortunately I think it is too late for him. :(
