ID help needed

Sorry to say, but it looks like Apatasia to me, could be Majano, but looks like a small Apatasia. These are pest anenomes, it will multiply rapidly and overrun your tank. You can try a variety of ways to kill them. Joe's Juice, lemon juice, peper sauce(Chem Marin), or just boil Ro water and inject them with a needle and syringe, then suck them out with a turkey baster. I have found this is usually the best way to rid the tank of them. Also, seems safer to neighboring corals, the Joe's juice or Kalkwasser solutions can kill or burn other corals if you get it on them too. The boiling water is a little safer. If you have a lot to do on one rock, take the rock out and put in a smaller container with tank water and inject them from there, it makes it easier when it is not in the tank. Don't forget to suck out the remains after you shoot them up. Hope this helps
Matt

It is a manajo anemone. Major pest. Nothing eats them, they sting everything. I had about 100 before I found out what they were. They thrive on low light, and overfeeding. Best way to be rid of them is to blast them with boiling water from a turkey baster. Just fill up the baster with boiling water, and then blast the entire thing on it. It will turn whitish blue and be dead.

I've never heard of shooting boiling water on them while in the main tank.Is this a good idea?Just thinking about how it would effect other tank mates.I would like to find a better way to keep Manajo and Aiptasia at bay, right now I use Aiptasia Control.I hate putting that stuff in my system. It seems like everytime I get a new coral even after 3 or 4 weeks of QT I still will have one pop up from nowhere.

Squirting boiling water in to the tank will have no bad effects on the other tank inhabitants...It is not going to be used in such a large quantity to cause effect....Its a very good tried and tested route to removing majano and aiptasia...
