I know that I am doing the cardinal sin of asking without a picture so I'll say sorry now. Anyway for the past few weeks I have seen a little tunnel develop in the substrate against the glass, well today I got a good look at the creature. This is some type of worm, aprox. 1 - 1.5 inches long, 1/16 in diameter, brownish color, does not appear to have any legs. It has a mouth on the front that appears to eat the substrate as is creates it tunnel. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Shawn

It was a bristol worm, I couldn't get an exact ID so to be safe I dug him out. There were three actually. Gone now though, no problems. Thanks for your help.

there is about a 99% chance you just threw away a good part of yoru clean up crew.

I love my bristle worms, I would never get rid of them!!

I wish that I would have, however, If I can't identify them, I feel it's safer to remove them.

Thanks to everyone who gave their suggestions.
