I saw this tonight after rearranging my rock work. it stays closed up during the day and opens up at night. i have two of them on a rock. any idea what it is?

i agree with stomatella, but they're snails and move around. from your description it seems yours are sessile. is this true?
i don't think it is a snail. it looks like a closed button polyp during the day and at night it opens up and has 7 to 8 tenticals when it opens.
HUH???? Are we looking at the same thing???
Looks like either a polyp or an aiptasia to me....leaning towards aiptasia....
