I got some corals(some cute tiny zoas) the other day and these little guys are in their base

I know the one on the right is a feather duster but the one on the left is a very different color (no stripes just white)

Any ideas? Thanks

oh btw i know this is the wrong section for this question but my three of my polyps have green centers with burgundy tentacles and the others are purple with green lips only. Any ideas on what these guys are called (i know it's hard to label zoas because they can morph colors)

Thanks!!!!

Same thing, both are common hitchhiker featherdusters. They come in all types of colors/patterns but they are always good to have since they help filter your water. Zoas.. so many names, so many that are so similar with minor variations.. just call them by their base/skirt color most of the time. ie, blue center with red tentacles.. etc. If their mouth is different, say in something like a Red People Eater, you say Green mouth, purple base, red tentacles. No one can ever agree on names and since there are so many variations you can never be sure the ones you got are exactly the named ones you see on zoaid.com

Thank you that was a very nice explanation

I've only ever seen the brown/white featherdusters and then coco worms

Thank you!!!

I got one of those with a piece of live rock. It's doing fine and wish ot would reproduce. You'll be surprised as what shows up that you didn't introduce. Hopefully the hitch hikers you get are all good ones.

oh i have another quick question
do my zoas have zoapox? i think they do and i am going to put them through a round of treatment unless they are fine
