ID this eel please!

It's not Synbranchus marmoratus, a true (not anguillid) "American swamp eel" (us. goes under the heading of "marbled swamp eel").
 
it's an american eel if the bottom jaw is longer than the top jaw, an that deff is an american eel. i bought 5 of them 2 mths ago, 1 of them is big, well about 18'' and as big as a silver dollar around. im trying to get my cam to work but i lost my driver disk, but ill have pictures for you sometime soon,. thay get very big and very mean. they are also a very easy fish to keep the can take many polutients and bad water quality,. i feed my elvins = smaller ones with krill,. i get it wet and put it on a long metal rod and they come over to eat it,. they accoiate <sp> the metal rod with food,. they like there handelers and look really killer swimming around when they get big,.

Yeah, I agree, they are very friendly. Mine would eat out of my hand everyday. Slimy as hell!

Does anyone know where to get these reliably? Mine died when he escaped...:(
 
i ran across them sold as bait , durring the winter time on east coast ,. as for pet trade i dont know if you can readily find them avaible,. check and see and ill send you one free if you pay shipping.
