I have a 120l FW tank..it's inhabitants are dwindling slowly (v.elderly tetra shoal) and I'd like to eventually switch to SW....

I want to do FO (let's start simply here!!)...it has an internal filter with 2 v.fine sponges (bio filtration), 1 fine sponge & 1 coarse sponge (mechanical flitartion), floss pad (mech again) and I have the option of putting a phosphate removal/carbon/whatever pad in there as well...

Lighting wise I have one Flourescent tube w/ reflectors...(can't recall length, possibly 28" or 36"??) Coudl change it for a "SW" or "coral" tube if necc. or modify for a second tube?

I was thinking of doing a coral sand base, some rock decoration (possibly LR??) and leaving it nice and simple at that.

Inhabitants...I'd like a pair of little clowns (What sp.?) and a goby of some sort? Doable?

Can I have inverts w/o going into the world of UV, skimmers, surge power heads etc.? (I'd like a little shrimp)

Muchos Gracias for all your help in advance.

Yes, it shouldn't be an issue unless you've used copper based meds in the tank. If you have you can forget inverts. You might also consider letting the live rock do your filtration it looks more natural and it has no moving parts. That's more of a taste/lazy Chris issue though so it would work with your filters ," you probably already know you'll have to change out the pads etc."
Sounds nice

The internal filter is rather attached to the aquarium (I have tried removing it before!!) I could, I suppose change it to all mech/chem filtration and let LR do the bio stuff??
