Hopefully this comparison might help to see the differences. the other thing to note is the jaw structure of the true pacu is much thicker and 'beefier'.

this is for eating big nuts and stuff later on in life as a monster

all colour differences aside, the mouth and jaw is the dead give away

the black line in the tail fin looks like a pacu's in those pics. plus the jaw line.

Look at the adipose fins on the fish in question, the pacus and the dollars. Looks more like the silver dollar.
