You are dead on it is also called a Deceptosnail. This is the same snail that you will see in the third part of the documentary series on the transforming robots.
Spoiler so if you don't want to know stop reading now....
The snail attacks Bumble Bee causing him to slide off the edge of the cliff on the slime trail ending bumble bees life. The good news is the cost of recycled steel was up so the Autobots got enougn to buy Optumius some pimped out stacks.
