idea: backwards bowfront

I totally like this idea as far as the background possibilities go. A curved background might make it seem more like you're peering into their world where the way a bow is normally it's like they come out into ours a little bit.

The store I was at today has a really nice heavily planted 72 bowfront and it's impressive. They take full advantage of the bow by having a mounded and rounded planting going right up to the glass. No substrate is visible.

Imagine creating a sloping live background made with plantings shaped kinda like the inside end of a football stadium.

yeah. that would be so nice. the bow would let you really ramp the substrate further back, without having deep substrate in the middle ground.

you could also probably use a powerhead to create a circular current in the tank, aiming it across the bow.

And with the right alignment of decor, almost 3 distint free swimming areas and breaking of line of sight.

Put the tank in a corner so it acts as a corner tank

I was thinking the same thing just the other day.

Could you place a few small potted plants outside of the aquarium, behind each back corner? They would help hide the fact that the sides stand off from the wall a few inches, and might add some visual interest too when you look through the tanks sides from the front.....

One pet store here has one of those wave tanks where the glass (from left to right) bows out then curves in. An "S" curve. I haven't seen one filled tho.
