The 20H is currently being used as a fish tank. But it will be torn down in the next few days due to a leaking seal. I want to do something with this tank and not throw it out. Is there any reptiles that would be fine in a standard 20g tank? I do have a 20L but that's going to become the new home for my Leopard Gecko.

Any ideas are welcome. :3 I would do some live plants in the tank but not quite sure if that's a good idea.

Some of the smaller anoles would be ok in a 20 gallon tall. A crested gecko would also be ok in that size enclosure. Both of those you could do live plants with (pothos, spider plants etc) as they like humid environments. Additionally, if you wanted amphibians, you could easily do whites tree frogs, cuban tree frogs or green tree frogs. The whites are kind of my favorite personality wise. All of these you could do live plants with as well.

I do have a Peace lily, could I use that?. I can get some other plants like spider plants and some others that I can find. I might do a Crested Gecko or Whites Tree Frog or the Green Tree Frog. I do like Crested Geckos, I find them very cute, and I do have a gecko already. I find them very adorable and calm. I think the 20H would be a good space for a Crested, bigger then some of the Crested Gecko tanks I've seen.

For a crusted Gecko, what would I need?

I highly recommend doing a lot of research. Cresteds are true geckos, your leopards are not. So the care is entirely different. They're fruit eaters, need high humidity, solitary and need to have plants to hide in that they can climb on or help to hide the walls. You should also buy from a breeder and not a pet shop.

For info, I've always like the website kingsnake, they have good info to get you started and can take you from there.

Additionally, the reptile subforum of MFK is fairly active and I am wanting to say that there was someone over there that has a few cresties. You might take a look and ask questions there.

I'm going to be mixing organic potting soil with coconut fiber for the substrate for the live plants, wood for climbing and hiding areas. There's a few things I can buy to put on the glass wall of the tank for water and food, like the baby food. They like to hide, the plants would provide that along with the wood. First I'm going to get the tank and everything set up before getting a Crested.

I just took down the 20H and removed all the sand. Going to clean it out more with vinegar/water mix to remove the water stains. Saw a mix of peat moss and coconut fiber at work (I work at Wal-mart), I think that should be fine, not sure though.
