Ideas for a 5g planted tank?

I have decided that I want to build my tank first and get the plants up to my OCD liking, but I havent a clue what to put in! I was thinking EcoComplete, but other options would be great. I would at a landscaping materials yard so I have access to white sand as well as cobble stones for decor.

Plant ideas? I'm probably going low to medium light.

Also, outside of inverts and a betta, does anyone have ideas on stocking? If I were to do inverts in a heavily planted tank, what types would you suggest?

I plan on doing some SERIOUS planning when it comes to this. Oh, and it will be going into a standard 5g kit from Walmart, of course tweaked to my liking.

Dwarf hairgrass carpets are nice!

least killies, ember tetras, small apistos, danionella translucida and mirifica, pretty much other tiny stuff like that.

I say, hemianthus callitrichoides, some nice rocks of varying sizes, and some small dwarf hairgrass to accent the rocks, maybe a little driftwood with java moss in there as well.... for inverts, I love CRS (crystal reds) or Cardinal shrimp, and I have always loved those small little pearl danio's. Embers are nice too. By tweaking, what exactly are you planning on tweaking? Lighting, co2.....

Since it's a mostly planted tank I suggest inverts. Just because they will help keep your tank groomed and clean. Clean plants look a lot better then algae covered ones.

i would say ember tetras. You can keep a school of 6 of them in it. That would look nice. Also, keep a lot of grassy plants of your choice. That would make the embers feel safer and it will look cool too! Good luck, I wanna see this tank when its finished!
