Aside with my 55 gallon, I'm getting a nice little 10 gallon tank to go in my room. Tomorrow I'm going to go out and get some plants for it. I was wondering what some of you think would look nice for the ten gallon. I was thinking of getting foreground made of baby tears with a mid ground of a anubias or a java fern. I couldn't think of anything for a background. Mainly I just would like to hear some interesting plant ideas to make the tank look decorative while maintaining a "small look". No idea what kind of fish are going into the tank, but I might end up just putting a few tetras in it.

There is also another thing I would like to ask one of you plant experts. I've been hearing this myth going around from some people that adding a small amount of regular carbonated water to a planted tank would add to the amount of CO2 in the tank. Is this true/safe?

I love moneywort, I find it grows easily and looks great. Don't leave it in a bunch like when you buy it; It's a bit more difficult(okay, it can be *painful*...) to plant without being weighted, but planting the individual stalks is rewarding. Buying a couple bunches of moneywort for ~$6(near me) gets you probably 15 or more stalks.

As for adding carbonated water, I'd recommend against it. It will raise CO2, but you need to introduce CO2 continually and slowly in order to maintain a proper level over time.
