You shouldn't mix African cichlids with other types of cichlids. It doesn't matter how they get along, they have different requirements.

convicts are NOT african cichlids...
and no matter how good theget along, they have different needs, you will run into health problems if these fish are kept together
PLUS, the oscar will outgrow that tank within a year, a 55 is big enough to house ONE oscar, and nothing else
a 75 is the minimum, but a 55 gal for ONE oscar will do..
you should really bring the other fsh back if you have no plans to properly house them
Must be frank here but, if your screen name is "i love cichlids", shouldn't you then be obliged to treat them according to their needs simply out of principal? At the very least, love them enough to know their species name and environmental requirements before bringing them home and dropping them into a tank?
The fish you're keeping simply put are not compatible on any level.
Also, typically, mother cichlids won't eat their fry and they keep them in a corner for security reasons. Also, the father helps raise the brood.
Don't mean to sound harsh but, get a book. It's cheaper than losing fish.

Odd thing about jellybeans
The odd thing about jellybeans (and that one is undyed) is that they're almost like a dwarf balloon pink convict. They have the exact same breeding style (prolific!) and same temperament. They are said to be bred from pink convict fathers and blood parrot mothers. Odd thing is though that half the babies will look like regular cons and the other half look like the jelly you see posted. They don't end up looking much like parrots at all. A lot of people now believe they are simply a dwarf balloon convict...not so much a hybrid like the parrot, but simply a mutation that's being bred like to like.
All that being said...I agree with everyone who is posting NOT to keep the Africans in with any other cichlid than Africans. They don't like the same water parameters and...(not to offend either side of the fence!)...but the Africans tend to be a little too aggressive for the SA's. Oh..and rule of thumb for Oscars? 55 gallon tank = 1 Oscar only.
