Greetings,

I'm new to the aquatic plant world, and have just set up a 20g tank, which I'm hoping to have well planted.

I purchased 2 plants recently...one is an ancharis (sp?) that is growing like gangbusters. The other is a rooted plant that looks like a tuft of long grass. The blades are about 4-5 inches long. I've been trying to find photos of aquatic plants with names, and haven't had much luck. I'm hoping it isn't mondo grass, as I've read that it is "blacklisted" as not a true aquatic plant and won't last long..

Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been through all the plants on Aquatic plant profiles, and didn't find it. It looks somewhat like Hair Grass, but the blades are a tiny bit wider, and gracefully curve down, and don't stand straight up like in the photos. I'll check out the other referenced site next. In the meantime, thanks!

Well, I think I found it on tropica.com Kyoto Dwarf...not a very positive description, and does mention it is used in terrariums often, and last only about a month. Darn. Live and learn. At least I didn't pay too much for them, and I know better now.

What a great resource this site has been. I feel like I'll never have to make a mistake again!
