If 100 people gave just 10 dollars.

Not sure who the guy is, but by all do respect, and without offending anyone, getting an allowance? What does that mean? If you want something bad enough, you'll manage to save and get it. Obviously there are priorities, but where there's a will there's a way. That's the way i see it.

If not just put it on credit.. :)

In answer to the above-poster's question about "getting an allowance", my dad was actually on one when I was growing up.

He could not control his spending and spent his way into a Chapter 13 for my family. (Similar to filing bankruptcy.) After that, my mom took control of the finances and gave him a certain amount of money to last him the week. If he wanted to buy something, i.e. a new drill or saw or something, he would ask her, and as long as they had the money AFTER all the bills were paid, they would go buy it.

It was kind of sad to see an adult on an allowance, but there was really no other way, since he absolutely couldn't control his money. If he had it, he spent it.

I guess everyone have their weaknesses. Not sure how I'd deal with an allowance though...

When you're grown up, they call that a "budget."

And if you really want to get money, put a PayPal link on your website and tell people you'll strip on a webcam for donations. Girls and women have been doing this on the net for the last few years, some to a very advanced degree. It's a shame I'm not hot or female, or otherwise I'd have to contemplate video-ho'ing myself out in a similar manner.

:D That's hysterical!

Suppose anyone would pay to watch me put in a sidewalk and flower beds?

lolololol... That was funny.

I remember the good ol days when I was working restaurants.. I had the worst spending habits you could possibly imagine.. Making 900+ clean, on a weekly basis, but I'd still always manage to be broke...

now that I got a "real" 9-5ish type job, I miss the days of easy money. If I could only go back though, I'd definately do things differently.

It's not looking too good. The posts are funny though. I know that we all want something and there is never enough money. As one post said, we would argue over who get's it. There were also some references to pyramid schemes...and I think one implied that I was trying to get money. No comment. I just thought I would see what people had to say. The reason for the thread was because sometimes I feel bad for people who don't have what I have. I don't have alot and I'm not rich or anything. I also cannot afford to finance other peoples wishes. But this could be one way to do something nice for one person. Imagine if we all did small things for each other what a world it would be. Ten dollars doesn't mean s*** to me, but coupled with the ten dollars of 100 other people, it could mean the world to someone else. Didn't think it would fly; I know the world we live in, but I thought I would give it a shot.

Or this maybe....

If 100 people gave just ten dollars to a memeber on this forum he could get a really good start on a 100+ gallon tank he's been dreaming about for a long time. I wonder if it's possible? Would it be ok to do? Would people do it? I've been thinking about it off and on for a few weeks, and I thought, why not? I don't know this person, but he(?) seems really nice. Just your typical hard working guy. If you read enough posts, you tend to get a feeling about people and the type of life they lead. I know this guy is hard-core into aquariums, is married, and has two kids. He's on an allowance from his wife and everything he does is on a budget. He's been dreaming about a 100+ gallon tank for some time. He's helped countless people on this forum. I would donate 10 bucks to the tank fund in payment for the advice I've been given and just to make someone really happy. Just wanted to send this out there and see if it is possible.

Or......Take all the recipes ya'll posted ( maybe gather a few more ) and make a "Cook Book" on a DVD or CD, pictures etc..and sell it on E-Bay....
