If I REALLY want my apple snails to breed I....(fill in the blank)

I usuallly try and sex them by holding them upside down under the water, I don't havea lot of luck sexing them out of the tank.

once I had a female cockatiel named jake before I knew about partial pieds. I didn't find out she was a girl until she crawled into a paper bag, stayed there all day and attacked anyone who came close. looked in the bag and jake had eggs!! (sorry, I didn't get past the first page.)
Couldn't help with the breeding stuff....my snails aren't even here yet.
 
whenever i did huge water changes with slightly warmer water and leave a big variety of feedings for a couple days (while leaving the water line down) it worked like a charm.
 
How large do snails need to be to begin mating?
 
some of mine were around 1" and 1 1/2" in shell diameter when they started, but some others were just under an inch. so im not really sure what the norm is on size for them. if i had to guess i would say an inch maybe?
you'll know when you see it though :)
